With access to well over 100 classic and contemporary flavours, original Rod Hutchinson, Geoff Kemp, Solar, Nutrabaits, Richworth. I can produce truly bespoke hook baits tailored to your angling. Ethyl based flavours, alongside a wide range of unique powdered feeding stimulants and essential oils.

I generally favour a subtle approach, using flavour levels lower than the recommended dosage to create a balanced bait. However, as the water cools, certain liquids can be increased where appropriate, as many really come into their own during the colder months. Every angling situation is different too—whether you’re fishing over deep silt, clean gravel or weedy areas, I can tailor a hook bait to suit the conditions.

Minimum order: 4 pots (12mm or 15mm Pop-Ups or Wafters) - I can go larger or smaller on request however predominately stick to those sizes above.

Every batch is hand rolled in small quantities with attention to detail, staying true to the traditions of old-school bait making - happy to also share some photos/ video’s of them being made.

The old school essence is committed to rolling back the years with flavours that are supplied into the angling industry, no connection to any of the brands/ businesses in the photo above.

Hook baits are rolled on Shillham mark 2 tables, 12mm, 14mm, 16mm & 18mm options are available, round and dumbbells. Hookbaits are steamed instead of boiled which means a lower percentage of the liquid flavour profile is lost. The hook baits are rolled from scratch, not flavoured mass produced blanks. They are not always perfectly round sometimes a little wonky, just how we like it!
