The Old School Essence is dedicated to reviving the timeless essence and nostalgia of the British carp fishing heritage.

The mission is to educate and celebrate the traditions of simpler times when anglers would often mix a 12-egg blend, rolling bait on the bank while sharing special memories over endless cups of tea and stories of what could be. 

While technology has advanced alongside ingredients and knowledge, we have embraced these improvements without losing that old school ethos of giving the carp a quality food source. This allows us to offer proper anglers a unique, HNV (high nutritional value) bait that retains the classic look, smell and nostalgia of traditional British carp angling.

The flagship product freezer bait known as "The Old School Essence," is created for anglers who value carp fishing history and refuse to compromise on quality. This bait offers carp an extremely high-quality ingredient package, digestible , palatable, and an all around nutritionally dense food source, all while rolling back the years with a recipe that was originally home-rolled and kept under wraps for a long time.

The mix is now produced on a larger rolling setup with an auto cutter and is steamed instead of boiled, resulting in significant improvements. 

It has been several years since it was last rolled, having been refined to align with today’s best quality ingredients from trusted suppliers. Reintroduced in 2026, it required no further testing as it has been thoroughly tested over the years, drawing inspiration from over 40 years of combined angling and fishery management.
